Aerodynamic analysis and airfoil design

Camber

Design the aerofoils and evaluate the aerodynamics against the airframe you actually sized.

The problem it solves

Aerodynamic work often happens in a tool that has no idea what the aircraft is supposed to be. An aerofoil is polished in isolation, then handed over, and it turns out to fight the mass and structure decisions made elsewhere.

Why it is hard

Aerodynamic results are only as trustworthy as the conditions they were run at, and those conditions drift between analysts and runs. Two people evaluate the same wing and get two answers, with no record of which Reynolds number, mesh or setting produced either.

How Camber does it

Camber designs and analyses lifting surfaces against the airframe definition from Planform, so the aerodynamics are always evaluated at the real operating point. Runs are versioned, so a polar can be reproduced months later exactly as it was generated.

One airframe model

Camber reads the airframe definition Planform converges and feeds the loads Spar sizes to, so aerodynamics, mass and structure stay in agreement instead of drifting apart.
