Computer vision inspection

Scout

Narrow thousands of inspection frames to the few that need a specialist.

The problem it solves

Inspection imagery has to be reviewed for corrosion, cracking, vegetation encroachment and structural damage at a volume no human can sustain, so most of it is skimmed or never looked at closely.

Why it is hard

Inspection models are trained on data that does not resemble the asset being inspected, and inspectors will not trust a model that cannot explain itself. A false negative on a structural crack is not an acceptable error.

How Scout does it

Scout ranks and routes findings for human review rather than replacing it: thousands of frames narrow to the few hundred worth a specialist's attention, each finding carrying its source frame and confidence. Thresholds favour false positives over misses, because the costs are not symmetric.

One airframe model

Scout feeds confirmed findings into the airworthiness and asset record, so an inspection result becomes part of the history Hangar keeps.
