Mission planning, live command and the flight record usually live in three disconnected tools. The plan is made in one place, flown in another, and the telemetry ends up as a file that never reaches the people who could learn from it.
A ground station has to be reliable enough to trust in the field and open enough to feed the rest of the programme, and most tools pick one. Either the data is locked in a proprietary format or the station is a fragile script that fails when it matters.
Sortie plans, commands and records missions, and treats the flight record as a first-class output. The plan is checked against the aircraft's performance, and the telemetry flows straight into Downlink and the airworthiness record in Hangar.
